Accessibility

Accessibility statement.

What we are aiming for, what we know is not there yet, and how to tell us when something blocks you.

Our target

We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard we design and test against.

We are not claiming a certification, an audit result or full conformance. No independent review has been carried out. This page describes what we do and what we know is still outstanding, and we would rather be accurate about that than reassuring.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order
  • Keyboard access to every link, button, form field and accordion, with visible focus styles
  • Text alternatives on meaningful images, and empty alt text on decorative ones
  • Colour contrast checked against the dark palette used throughout the site
  • Motion and auto-advancing content stop when the operating system requests reduced motion
  • Layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling down to small screen widths

Known limitations

Third-party and embedded content

Where content is embedded from another provider, its accessibility is partly outside our control. We will replace or route around anything that creates a barrier.

Imagery pending replacement

Several photographs on the site are placeholders awaiting real practice photography. Alt text will be rewritten to describe the final images when they are in place.

Migrated blog content

Articles being imported from the previous site have not yet been reviewed individually for heading structure, link text or image descriptions.

PDFs and downloads

Any documents offered for download may not yet be tagged for screen readers. If you need one in a different format, ask and we will provide it.

Reporting a problem

If something on this site stops you doing what you came to do, tell us. Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using.

Call 800-794-1588 or use the contact form. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports promptly and will tell you what we intend to do about it, including if the answer is that it will take a while.

If you need information from this site in another format — large print, plain text, or read to you over the phone — ask and we will arrange it.
